What's the difference between selecting a school or selecting a department within a school?

College Kickstart tracks admission rates for over 280 departments across 40 institutions. When you select a department within a school, the admission rate reported for that specific department is used. When you simply select the school, the overall admission rate for that school is used. The admission rate differences can be material between departments—say engineering vs. humanities—and will directly impact how a school is categorized for you as part of the list check.
